I took this to my game group which is 40+ and we had a blast with it. At one point we had tears in our eyes from laughing so hard (we play a lot of party games but I have no memory of ever laughing like this). Concept is simple..make up a word, pronounce it, define it and defend it so that it fits with the subject on a card. (i.e. Volhit- the club that is used to bash virgins on the head so that they aren't conscious before high priests toss them into the volcano as their ancient religion requires.) If you can pull it off, you get the points on that card. Highest points win. There is an option to make up your own rules and we tried this as well. Our rule was that at the end of the game, we read back a players subject cards and they had to remember what word they put down for that subject and it's definition. If they forgot, they lost those points. The tiles are made of silicone which we really liked as they don't slide on table top. But there is not enough tiles. You keep 8 at a time and with a handful of players you don't get many rounds before you're out of tiles. Because the words are made up, a lot of long words go down using up a lot of tiles. Some people ran out of vowels early and that was an issue as well. Tiles come in a sealable bag which we passed around for people to take new tiles out of and that worked well. There are plenty of cards with lots of subjects. While we recognized that the cards don't need to be larger, it was a hassle to try to shuffle the small size of these. We did end up playing on a mat because the letters all face one direction and that meant that the players on one side of the table always had to read upside down. So we played on a mat that could be turned to face whoever was playing. I can see people of any age playing this....the day we played our oldest was 77. If you have some imagination and can keep a straight face while spewing BS, you can play this. I don't see why this wouldn't work for any language that uses a standard English alphabet.

When I first ordered Blabbi, I read that it could be played with two players, but I was disappointed to discover that the box was marked as three to eight players on the box. Since my husband and I typically play games alone, I didn't think we'd get the chance to play this one much. To my relief, it does have a two-player option in the instructions that's non-competitive (no points or voting), which we both prefer when playing as a couple anyway. With two players or more, competitive or not, the game is a blast. It's essentially Scrabble with made-up words and an element of sales since you have to convince the other players that your made-up word is believable using the definition card you’ve chosen. Only with a majority vote can you earn the points on the card. The best part about this game is that for people who aren't good spellers or don't typically enjoy word games, Blabbi is still a lot of fun. My husband sweeps this game when he nearly always comes in last with our other word games. He's creative, funny, and smart with his answers, and that counts most in this game. The quality of this game is excellent. The tiles are a thick material similar to a kids' eraser (though they don’t erase; I tried), which makes them easy to grip and keep in place on a table, and a resealable bag has been provided to contain them. The box is sturdy and has plenty of space to store everything. The cards are small but durable and the printing is easy to read. Blabbi is a great two-player game, a great party game, and a guaranteed laugh. It’s definitely worth getting!

Blabbi is a great game for those of us who love words. It encourages creative thinking and is sure to lead to lots of laughter. This is a very enjoyable game to play with friends and family. The game pieces are made of durable material so the game can stand up to lots of use. It is very well designed. I love this game!
